Würth’s New 2.5 mm Common-Mode Chokes: What PCBA Buyers Must Check by Part Number

Würth Elektronik’s WE-SLSP series offers a low-profile option for space-constrained data and power interfaces. Its impedance, current rating and resistance vary substantially by part number, so buyers should approve the exact component before releasing a PCBA build.

Würth’s New 2.5 mm Common-Mode Chokes: What PCBA Buyers Must Check by Part Number

TL;DR Würth Elektronik announced its WE-SLSP surface-mount common-mode choke series on November 4, 2026, for applications including compact data and power interfaces. For PCBA buyers, the decision is whether a specific part meets the circuit’s noise, current, voltage, height and signal-integrity requirements. Approve an exact manufacturer part number and validate it in the intended assembly; the series-wide maximum ratings do not describe one interchangeable part.

What changed

Würth says the WE-SLSP uses a 5 × 5 mm package with a 2.5 mm height and a rated voltage of 100 V DC. Its November 4 announcement describes a range of impedance, current and DC-resistance values across the series and says all versions were available from stock at that time. That statement does not establish availability for a later order or inventory held by a PCBA manufacturer.

Why the exact part number matters

Würth’s product catalog lists part 744241101 at 100 Ω impedance at 100 MHz, 6 A rated current and 15 mΩ DC resistance. Part 744241202 is listed at 1,800 Ω at 100 MHz, 1.3 A and 73 mΩ. Both have the same listed 5 × 5 × 2.5 mm dimensions, but choosing by package size alone could change electrical and thermal behavior. These are manufacturer ratings, not measured results for a finished PCBA.

What to decide before release

First, specify the exact part number and check its impedance over the frequencies that matter to the circuit, alongside rated current, DC resistance and voltage. Confirm that the land pattern and 2.5 mm component height fit the assembly.

Next, test the selected part in the actual interface. Noise suppression must be assessed together with signal integrity and temperature rise under the intended operating conditions.

Finally, obtain a dated availability and quotation check for the approved part number. JETFGO’s public component-sourcing page describes BOM and manufacturer-part-number review with customer approval of alternatives; its PCB Assembly page describes project-specific assembly and testing review. Neither page establishes stock or performance for this Würth part.
