NXP Radio Power EOL: What Should PCB and PCBA Buyers Do Before September 30, 2026?

NXP’s official discontinuation notice lists 65 Radio Power orderable part numbers with a last-time-buy date of September 30, 2026. Every listed item is marked Full Withdrawal, Limited Availability and Sole Source, and the notice lists no replacement part. PCB and PCBA buyers should check exact BOM orderable numbers immediately, confirm remaining lifetime demand and authorized-channel availability, and open a controlled redesign and requalification path wherever a last-time buy cannot safely cover the product lifecycle.

NXP Radio Power EOL: What Should PCB and PCBA Buyers Do Before September 30, 2026?

PCB and PCBA buyers should immediately compare every active and service BOM against NXP notice 202603037DN. The notice covers 65 Radio Power orderable part numbers whose last-time-buy date is September 30, 2026; all are marked Full Withdrawal, Limited Availability and Sole Source, with no replacement part listed.

A September 30 deadline is not a guarantee of supply. NXP states that limited-availability orders are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis until remaining capacity or inventory is depleted, so buyers should confirm availability directly with NXP or an authorized channel and begin redesign planning in parallel.

What exactly did NXP announce?

NXP issued its Final Radio Power Discontinuance Notice, 202603037DN, on March 31, 2026, effective April 1, 2026. NXP states that it is continuing to ramp down its Radio Power product line and will discontinue supply of the devices identified in the notice.

The affected-parts table contains 65 orderable part numbers. Each row carries the same critical procurement status:

Official notice field Value shown for all 65 listed orderable parts Procurement meaning Discontinuation type Full Withdrawal NXP is withdrawing all product types with similar functionality, under the definition in this notice. Availability Limited Availability Remaining capacity or inventory may be allocated before the stated deadline. Source Sole Source NXP identifies the product type as unique to NXP. Last Time Buy Date September 30, 2026 The final stated date on which NXP will accept an order, subject to availability. Last Time Delivery Date September 30, 2027 The final stated shipment date for accepted last-time-buy orders. Replacement Part None listed The table provides no direct replacement orderable number.

These facts apply only to the exact orderable part numbers in the notice. Buyers should not treat every NXP RF or Radio Power product as discontinued, and they should not match only a shortened base part number. Package, packing and orderable suffixes matter.

Does the September 30 date guarantee that an order can still be filled?

No. NXP defines these parts as Limited Availability and says qualifying last-time-buy orders will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis until remaining manufacturing capacity or inventory is depleted. Availability can therefore end before September 30.

The last-time-delivery date of September 30, 2027 also should not be interpreted as general product availability through that date. NXP’s product lifecycle definitions distinguish the last date for placing an order from the expected completion of shipments against accepted last-time-buy orders.

For procurement teams, the operational question is not simply “Can we place an order by September 30?” It is “Has NXP or an authorized source confirmed quantity, schedule and commercial terms for our exact orderable number?”

What should PCB and PCBA buyers do now?

The following checklist is industry analysis based on the official notice. It is not a statement from NXP and does not guarantee allocation.

1. Run an exact BOM match

Search released-production, NPI, repair and service BOMs for the complete NXP orderable part number, including package and packing suffix. Retain the 12NC identifier from the official table where your systems support it.

For each match, record:

product and assembly revision; approved manufacturer part number and approved vendor list status; annual usage and open demand; inventory on hand, in transit and already committed; work-in-process and finished-goods coverage; warranty, repair and field-service horizon; and the person responsible for the buy-or-redesign decision. 2. Separate a lifetime-buy decision from a redesign decision

A last-time buy may cover a stable, near-end-of-life program. It may be a poor fit for a long-life product with uncertain demand, strict storage controls or an extended service obligation.

Use a documented demand model rather than multiplying current monthly usage by a rough number of months. Include production forecast, expected yield loss, engineering samples, qualification builds, repair demand and a clearly justified contingency. Then confirm order acceptance and delivery terms with NXP or an authorized distributor.

3. Do not treat broker inventory as an automatic substitute for authorized supply

After an EOL deadline, market listings can remain visible even when traceable supply is tightening. Before approving any nonstandard source, require a risk review covering chain of custody, date and lot codes, storage history, packaging condition, moisture sensitivity where applicable, counterfeit controls and the inspection or electrical test plan.

The objective is not merely to find stock. It is to establish whether the stock is authentic, usable, traceable and suitable for the intended reliability requirement.

4. Open a technical replacement path now

The NXP notice lists no replacement part for the affected rows. That does not prove that no alternative design is possible, but it means buyers should not assume a drop-in substitute.

For Radio Power devices, a replacement review may need to compare:

Review area Questions to answer before approval Electrical function Does the candidate meet the required frequency range, gain, output power, efficiency, linearity and bias conditions? Absolute limits Are voltage, current, power dissipation and temperature ratings adequate for the actual operating envelope? Package and footprint Is the package compatible, or will the land pattern and board outline change? RF layout Do matching networks, transmission-line geometry, grounding or via structures need to change? Thermal design Are heat spreading, copper area, via arrays, interface materials or heatsinking still adequate? Firmware and control Are bias sequencing, monitoring, protection or calibration changes required? Qualification What functional, RF, thermal, EMC, reliability and regulatory tests must be repeated?

NXP also states in the notice that any replacement designation it provides is for reference and is not a warranty of identical form, fit, function or performance until the customer qualifies the replacement. In this affected-parts table, the replacement column is blank.

5. Connect the component decision to the PCB and PCBA change process

A semiconductor substitution can become a board-level change. If the package, pinout, power dissipation or RF behavior changes, the project may require a new schematic, footprint, stackup review, impedance work, thermal analysis, Gerber or ODB++ release, assembly program, inspection criteria and functional-test limits.

Before releasing a new PCBA revision, align these controlled records:

schematic and BOM revision; approved manufacturer and supplier list; PCB fabrication data and stackup; pick-and-place and assembly drawings; stencil and reflow requirements; AOI, X-ray, ICT or functional-test coverage; first-article and qualification results; and old-versus-new configuration rules for production and service. What is fact, what is analysis, and what can JETFGO support?

To keep the decision trail clear:

External fact: NXP notice 202603037DN lists 65 affected orderable part numbers, all with Full Withdrawal, Limited Availability, Sole Source status, a September 30, 2026 last-time-buy date, a September 30, 2027 last-time-delivery date and no replacement part shown. Industry analysis: buyers should combine a demand-based lifetime-buy calculation with immediate redesign screening, authorized-source checks and configuration control. These are risk-management recommendations, not NXP commitments. JETFGO’s published capability: JETFGO publicly describes BOM-based electronic component sourcing, traceability review and supply coordination connected to PCBA delivery. JETFGO also publishes PCB assembly and PCBA services and a legacy PCB redesign and replacement route for obsolete-component and repeat-build requirements.

These published capabilities do not mean JETFGO can guarantee allocation of any affected NXP device or approve a substitute on the customer’s behalf. Exact supply, manufacturability and qualification requirements must be reviewed against the BOM, design files, intended use and current authorized-channel availability.

What should you send for an urgent review?

If an affected part appears in your BOM, prepare one controlled package containing:

the complete BOM with manufacturer and orderable part numbers; annual usage, open demand, on-hand stock and required service horizon; Gerber or ODB++, stackup and fabrication drawing; schematic, assembly drawing and pick-and-place data; approved alternatives, if any, and the owner of design approval; functional, RF, thermal and regulatory acceptance criteria; and required prototype, qualification and production dates.

For a PCB or PCBA manufacturing review, use JETFGO’s factory-direct RFQ contact page. JETFGO’s role is to review sourcing and manufacturing fit against the submitted data; component availability and any redesign must still be confirmed through the appropriate supplier and customer engineering approvals.

Bottom line

The actionable fact is narrow but urgent: 65 orderable parts in NXP’s Final Radio Power Discontinuance Notice have a last-time-buy date of September 30, 2026, and limited availability can close earlier. Any buyer with a matching BOM should obtain an exact supply confirmation and a documented lifecycle decision immediately.

Where confirmed last-time-buy supply cannot cover the remaining program, start redesign, PCB impact assessment and qualification planning now. A controlled transition is safer than discovering the dependency after the order window has closed.
